SCALE DRILLS

These tools are in water mains as a preliminary tool to grind through tuberculation, rust and scale in steel or cast iron water mains. The diamond-shaped point and each succeeding, larger row of cutter teeth are hard-faced and ground to knock the hard scale loose. These scale drills require a high-speed power drive to rotate them up to a maximum of 600 RPM for utmost effectiveness.
